With JavaScript and TypeScript becoming ubiquitous in the Web Development world support for TypeScript is mandatory to make NetBeans a serious contender in the IDE world. The existing plugin is outdated and doesn't work with current NetBeans versions (it also slows down the infamous "background scanning" massively).
