Product Version = NetBeans IDE 8.1 (Build 201510222201)
Operating System = Linux version 4.2.0-25-generic running on amd64
Java; VM; Vendor = 1.8.0_60
Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 25.60-b23

Reproducibility: Happens sometimes, but not always

STEPS:
  * Install Netbeans 8.1 on Ubuntu 14.04
  * Use Netbeans awhile, notice it will black the whole screen after awhile, requiring mouseover to "see" the icons, or resize window to redraw the screen.
I have seen this on two 64-bit Intel Ubuntu 14.04 machines.

ACTUAL:
  Have to downgrade to Netbeans 8.0 to fix this bug that happens fairly often.

EXPECTED:
  It should show the window correctly

It's more about JDK version than NetBeans version. This problem is associated with ClassCastException, that is reported as bug #219756.
