Hello,

It's been a while I have this freezing problem on Netbeans, which makes it literally unusable.
Sometimes, the IDE freezes during the lauching (starting/loading modules), sometimes it opens but it freezes during the background checking, sometimes it freezes as i open a folder inside a project, etc... The only way out is to kill the process.

So far, i've tried to change the jdk used (openjdk 7 and 8), no changes. I've uninstalled and deleted all files related to netbeans and reinstalled it again, no changes.
I've deleted the cache (~/.cache/netbeans), i've changed permissions on all my files (chmod 777 -R for ~/netbeans-8.1/ , ~/.netbeans* , ~/.cache/netbeans/), and changed ownership to my local user, still no changes.

However, if i launch netbeans as the root user, i haven't had any trouble yet.

Thanks and have a grat end of year

Try switching from openjdk to the latest Oracle JDK:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html

The problem in thread dump seems related to your native GTK library. Updating the Linux distro may help. If not, you can switch to a different look&feel, e.g. Metal:
