When working with netbeans, a File I was editing suddenly lost al its formatting:

Did it happen just once ? It seems that some version control system was used .. which one ?

Git was in use in the project

The problem happened just once, however around the moment it was happening, large parts of netbeans were starting to bug, so I uninstalled netbeans and installed the new version.
