I have Bugzilla 5.0.1 installed on my own web server.  I can connect to it through NetBeans Tasks, however when I attempt to Submit changes the Edit Task Repository dialogue box appears (no error).  Clicking on Validate shows "Connection successful".  I have full admin privileges, am I missing a config somewhere in Bugzilla or something?

I have the same issue with NetBeans 8.0.2.

NO ITS NOT!  I am using 8.1 RC2 and having the SAME PROBLEM!

P.S. Any reason that you feel Bug 244069 is related?  "I can connect to it through NetBeans Tasks, however when I attempt to Submit changes the Edit Task Repository dialogue box appears >>> (no error) <<<."  From what I read in Bug 244069 they can't even connect, which I have no problems with.

my mistake, got confused by the mentioned nb 8.0.2 and bugzilla 5.0.1

please run netbeans with the switch 
-J-Dorg.netbeans.modules.bugzilla.Bugzilla.level=-1 
reproduce the bug and attach your messages.log

not obvious from the log where the problem could be, besides that status code 3 stands for login error

as a matter of fact the bundled org.eclipse.mylyn.bugzilla.core 3.14.2 officially supports bugzilla server up to  4.5.6

we will have to upgrade anyway ...

mylyn was upgraded in daily builds to 3.17 (which should support bugzilla up to 5.0.1)

feel free to reopen in case you are still to reproduce with daily builds
