Atm it's not possible to customize the color of whitespace and carriage return symbol inside a plain text file. The only option is "default". I enabled "Non-printable symbols" and I changed the color for each language but for plain text files, I can't.
I would like to have the printable characters but only with an other, not so aggressive color.
