When using the split screen view, if you highlight/select lines by dragging through the "line numbers" column on the left in the non-active split, it should become the active split, so that you can cut/copy/delete/duplicate those lines. But the split only becomes active if you select the same lines by highlighting/selecting them within the main window. It gets me every time.
