Can you find any crash logs? http://wiki.netbeans.org/FaqMacJVMCrash
Nope, I couldn't find any logs. The icon just jumps on the dock and quits after a second.
Is the Java installation required by NetBeans still present? What happens when you try running NetBeans from terminal? /Applications/NetBeans/NetBeans\ 8.0.2.app/Contents/Resources/NetBeans/bin/netbeans Can you attach message.log which you would find under the following path in your home? Library/Application\ Support/NetBeans/8.0.2/var/log/messages.log
1, yes, i was able to run netbeans successfully via terminal /Applications/NetBeans/NetBeans\ 8.0.2.app/Contents/Resources/NetBeans/bin/netbeans this msg appears after run in terminal Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM warning: ignoring option PermSize=32m; support was removed in 8.0 2, i can't find log in Library/Application\ Support/NetBeans/8.0.2/var/log/messages.log because there is no such dir as netbeans in application support
(In reply to unhills from comment #6) > 1, yes, i was able to run netbeans successfully via terminal Good. Try eliminating the problem with running via icon by uninstalling and installing again. > 2, i can't find log in Library/Application\ > Support/NetBeans/8.0.2/var/log/messages.log because there is no such dir as > netbeans in application support In the running NetBeans you should see the correct path to your netbeans userdir in the About box.

I'm having the same problem. My Netbeans 8.0.2 isn't opening on my MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015). The icon jumps on the dock and the loading page pops up but quits after a second. I do have Java JDK installed. Would appreciate help on how to fix this problem. I also don't know what a "terminal" refers to (mentioned by anebuzelsky@netbeans.org ) and would appreciate if someone could explain; maybe my solution could be found that way.
