Description henri127 2014-12-01 11:13:10 UTC
Product Version = NetBeans IDE 8.0.2 (Build 201411181905)
Operating System = Windows 7 version 6.1 running on amd64
Java; VM; Vendor = 1.8.0_20
Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 25.20-b23

After updating 8.0.1 to 8.0.2, by updating all updates instead of installing 8.0.2 from scratch or using updates to install it, I am left with folder names (C:\Program Files\Netbenas...) and shortcuts for 8.0.1, while launching Netbeans mentions 8.0.2.

Is this repairable?

Hi, thank you for your report. But I'm not sure where is your problem, could you please explain it more?

From the notification window, I saw there were updates and that version 8.0.2 was available. I used the option to install all updates. After that finished and Netbeans was restarted the updates were installed and I assume these are all the updates for 8.0.2. When Netbeans starts up a temporarily window is shown with its version. I says 8.0.2, while the updates were invoked from version 8.0.1. So for the first time the update renewed my Netbeans version. However, my shortcut which is not placed on the desktop but on a sub folder of it, still was named 8.0.1, and also the C:\Users\..\AppData and C:\Program Files\Netbeans?.?.? directory was not renamed to 8.0.2 but still had the name 8.0.1 as version number. I assume this can be tricky renaming such a directory, as certain programs could become non find-able, therefore my question is it repairable, either by just renaming the shortcut and folder(C:\Program File\..) or either when such update series which changes the version number, also provides an update which renames all folders appropriately.

Hope that I answer your question. It isn't good idea to rename installation folder during update. You can try to rename it manually. Then shortcuts to netbeans executable should be updated. Also file associations have to be updated and maybe some other things...
