At the moment, NetBeans installers points to Oracle web page in order to install missing Java (screen-1)

 

However, alternatively, it could advice users to run "java" application.

Open Terminal and execute "java".

In this case, if there is no Java installed, OS X will ask user whether it should install it, and afterwards, will redirect to most recent Java version web page (screen-2).
