It appears to be working now. The day I was having issues I uninstalled jre 7 (32 bit) and installed jre 7 (64 bit) but I never rebooted. So not sure if the reboot was needed or what.

Paste would not work from clipboard....was pasting last copied text within netbeans

To clarify. When I was doing a paste it was pasting last copied thing in netbeans instead of the newly copied text from app outside of netbeans

I have issues with the clipboard too,
both copying from other applications into NetBeans (issue 245704, issue 246246)
and copying from NetBeans to other applications (this issue)

The problem is: when this problem occurs, there is nothing unusual in the IDE log. What else can be done to aid in finding the cause of this issue?

As mentioned already ( cf. https://netbeans.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=246246#c3 ), the only known way to get it back working is restarting NetBeans.
