high dpi small tabs

I love the way Netbeans works on high DPI settings. A strange thing though is that the tabs within the application get very small. Its very hard to click them.

Ive searched the internet about this, and I guess is something to do with high DPI scaling. Related info is at:

The rest of the window navigation such as menus, folder navigation, project navigation work great.

Is it possible to enable DPI scaling for the tabs? Isnt this a simple JAVA setting?
