Description tbrunhoff 2014-07-14 22:30:20 UTC
Open a file for edit, select any string, but don't copy it. Then move anywhere else and paste: it pastes whatever was selected. Somehow the act of section causes the selected string to move to the copy buffer.

Todd, I can not reproduce on my system.
Is anything like VNC is involved?
Or may be your Linux window manager was upgraded and smth like
http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/119043/how-can-i-disable-selection-highlight-auto-copying
has happened?

You are correct. Two things occurred together: an incremental update on fedora 19, and an install of the NB version cited above. Blaming it on NB seemed most likely, but it appears to have been the system update, possibly changing the settings in Klipper, which is probably similar to the link you provided above. I don't know what or why the Klipper settings were changed, but after fiddling with them a bit, the problem went away. Thanks for the pointers.
