I'm using the Jun 5 build. The installer category does not seem to have a 3.4 dev release The installer recognized that had an older verison install. This is much better than it used to be. Under the Upgrade from previous version radio button it says: You will be able to choose version for upgrade and installer will reuse your previous install and user directory and The sentence does not finish as it ends with "and". I think it should refer to settings rather than user directory as I think most users won't know what the user directory is. There are some grammatical issues. Probably best to work with Patrick or John. I'm not a writer but I would recommend something like: Allows you to choose the installation to upgrade. That installation's settings will not be changed. Under the Install new version radio button it says: Installer will ask you for new install directory and if you want to import settings from installed version or use new ones. Again, I'm not a writer, but I would recommend something like: You specify the new installation directory and can import settings from another installation or use new ones.
What is your opinion Patrick?
question: is anything in the installation directory actually being reused?
How about: "The installer will ask you to specify the installation to upgrade. The new installation will keep the settings that were used in the previous installation." and "The installer will ask you to specify a new installation directory. You can start with the IDE's default settings, or you can import the settings that you used in a previous installation." BTW, should we make a suggestion that the user follow the second choice (so that it is easier to revert to a previous installation)?
I think it is better without suggestion. Proposed texts looks fine so I'll implement them.
Fixed.
