I'm working on a remote project, I start on netbeans 8.0 on Windows and then change to netbeans 8.0 on Mac, I sync the projects using Git Pull. In my project I never create any symbolic link, the download process runs without problem um Windows but on Mac I receive the following message: Summary ==================== Ignored: dir backend/helpers File backend/helpers is a symbolic link. file backend/helpers/Social.php Some parent of file backend/helpers/Social.php is a symbolic link. file backend/helpers/Upload.php Some parent of file backend/helpers/Upload.php is a symbolic link. I have multiple folders in the project but I will put here only an example, in my project I have the Source Files -> backend -> helpers -> 2 files (social.php and upload.php) If I click on backend folder or helpers folder and select "Download..." then check the box and run I'm unable to download cause the symbolic link error Although if I click on Source Files then "Download..." and then only select the folder helpers inside backend and run it the files are downloaded without any issue. In both procedures I'm trying to download the same files, in one case everything works great in the other case I get the symbolic link problem. Any clue?
Hmm, hard to say - are you sure that there are really no symbolic links on the path? BTW Windows does not (officially) support symbolic links so the detection there likely does not work. @vriha: Láďo, could you please try it on Mac? Simply create some symlinks in the project and "above" the project (somewhere in the parent path of the project directory). Thanks.
Where are the symbolic links supposed to be? On remote server or local files? I tried following setup on FTP server: -- [folderX] -- [projectFolder] |-- backend |-- helpers ... symbolic link to [folderX] |-- index.php and create a new remote project. And it behaves the same for me no matter how I try, the Download action fails for the [helpers] saying link backend/helpers File backend/helpers is a symbolic link Note it doesn't say "dir" though. I cannot reproduce the message with "Some parent of file... is a symbolic link". I guess since the parent helpers is not being downloaded, then files inside cannot be downloaded as well. OK, so the symbolic links are on local machine. Now I can reproduce it as well
I don't know what was the cause of the problem, but I remove the project from netbeans, then add it again and download from server and now its ok. I have sure that my server have no symbolic links, something happened but I don't know what.
(In reply to kandalf from comment #4) > I don't know what was the cause of the problem, but I remove the project > from netbeans, then add it again and download from server and now its ok. If you newly downloaded the files then it means that there are no *local* symlinks in the project. > I have sure that my server have no symbolic links, something happened but I > don't know what. As we wrote, we think that the symlinks were *local* and not remote. Thanks for reporting.
