When I right click on a file like .gitignore, readme.md, *.txt I see the entry "Hex edit", for all other files like json, html, xml, js and I think for all other file types expect those which I mentioned, I don't have an entry for this. So I only can open these files via Tools -> Hex edit.

Because of inactivity of this plugin and because of that I found a new one called deltahex: http://plugins.netbeans.org/plugin/67898/deltahexeditor I will close the ticket.
