This is NOT FIXED in 162964 even though the responders in that issue say it is.

Please give ability in help window menu to enlarge the font size OVERALL for the help window content.

Someone with very good eyesight chose a very small font (I think it is 6.5) and they think it is okay.

I need a font size around 12 pts. to really see the text well.

This isn't a hard one to include!  Your online help content has NOT been updated to v8 (it's still at version 7.4).  So all the relative v8 help content is through the help window which I (and it appears so many others) cannot read.

If you are truly customer oriented, this should have been addressed year ago!

Thanks for reporting this.

Issue 162964 was for an older version of the IDE and the process for help generation was changed in 7.4. 
From what you say it appears that the old method for increasing the font size by the user no longer works so this is a new issue and as far as I am aware you are the first to report it.

Please open a separate issue if you are being directed to 7.4 content by the IDE.

The instructions for changing fonts and colors in the help viewer as described in the following link are incorrect starting with NetBeans IDE 7.4.

The instructions in usersguide should be updated or removed, depending on the solution.

The stylesheet that is used by the help topics is packaged with the help topics inside NETBEANS_INSTALL_DIR/ide/modules/docs/org-netbeans-usersguide.jar

To change the font size a user would need to edit the css file in the JAR. It may not be possible to edit the contents of the css file and repackage the JAR in a way that the IDE will recognize it.

It may be possible to modify the help build process to change the location of the stylesheet so that users can modify it.

I have the same issue on the Search Results tab - font size is too small and cannot be changed. Need the alt + mousewheel up/down change capability just like the main editor window.
