Product Version = NetBeans IDE 8.0 (Build 201403101706)
Operating System = Mac OS X version 10.9.2 running on x86_64
Java; VM; Vendor = 1.8.0
Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 25.0-b70

On my mac when i press the top-right button to expand the ide full screen (on my secondary large screen), it expands correctly then it stretch a bit leaving an empty black strip on top of the same height of the apple menu.

Reporter, is the bug reproducible on your primary screen as well?
Can you reproduce with a plain Java Swing app?
