The 192MB or so download of the complete NetBeans for SOLARIS (Sparc or x86) stops at 165MB and just sits there never completing
Loading the Java or C++ bundle (+adding wanted plugins afterwards) works fine though...
Is is related to the unavailability of JavaFX on those platforms?

No, the both Solaris should be available for 7.4 without any limitation.
