Created attachment 142703 [details] Example Instant Rename popup in 8.0 doesn't work with code completion. It will mess up the code and it isn't reversible. * Take this code boolean fo|o=false; // | defines the caret if (foo) {} * ALT-SHIFT-R * press CTRL-SPACE * move arrow key -> code completion proposes new name for the variable * ENTER to use the new variable name (!!! use the proposal) -> ACTUAL: * code gets messed up - see screenshot * there is no real entry in the undo buffer (I can undo the rename, but not all occurrences are renamed)

The instant rename popup has been disabled in 8.0 (bug 215138, comment 7)
This old bug may not be relevant anymore. If you can still reproduce it in 8.2 development builds please reopen this issue. Thanks for your cooperation, NetBeans IDE 8.2 Release Boss
