Description ajeh 2013-10-22 23:28:32 UTC
Product Version = NetBeans IDE 7.4 (Build 201310111528)
Operating System = Windows XP version 5.2 running on amd64
Java; VM; Vendor = 1.8.0-ea
Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 25.0-b53

Clicking Add to Category brings up a category selector. Creating a new category 'bug reports' and clicking Add does not add anything to the action items list.
Comment 1 Jan Peska 2013-10-24 11:16:56 UTC
Issues are no longer added to the Action Items window but to the new Tasks window, see http://wiki.netbeans.org/NewAndNoteworthyNB74#Tasks_dashboard_window for more details.
Comment 2 ajeh 2013-10-25 01:12:42 UTC
Nothing in there either
Comment 3 ajeh 2013-10-28 14:03:44 UTC
In addition to the tasks window being totally void of any items after 'adding', the categories created in the process are not saved once Netbeans is closed. Recommend going back to the good old proven action items that worked.

Please attach IDE log and describe reproduce scenario step by step.

Thanks.

Info was provided in the original description and is easy to reproduce. Just take an effort.
Comment 7 ajeh 2013-11-06 17:54:56 UTC
Here's repeat of original description for you if you are not willing to read it yourself:

Product Version = NetBeans IDE 7.4 (Build 201310111528)
Operating System = Windows XP version 5.2 running on amd64
Java; VM; Vendor = 1.8.0-ea
Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 25.0-b53

Clicking Add to Category brings up a category selector. Creating a new category 'bug reports' and clicking Add does not add anything to the action items list.

1) I kindly asked you for a IDE log to check if there are any previous exceptions which could cause this malfunction - IDE log was not attached in original description and it is not attached now.

2) I asked for a more detailed scenario because I tried to reproduce your problem but it worked fine so I thought I missed some detail (important for the reproduction of the issue). As I've learn from another issue you commented on (#236273), the Tasks window has to be closed to reproduce this issue.

I'm able to reproduce it now, thanks for reporting.

FYI as soon as #237198 and #238088 are fixed it should work just fine.
