Description giorgio42 2013-10-16 16:32:38 UTC
Using the current 7.4rc2 on Windows 7 x64 with JDK 1.7.0_40, NB completely hangs and has to be killed using the task manager, when I try to commit a changed Java file to the CVS repository (uses putty's plink to commit to CVS repository on Solaris SPARC 2.8 host).

This renders 7.4rc2 unusable for me.

Last line in messages.log:
#65188 warning C/S protocol error (section 5.10). It's regurarly observed with cvs 1.12.xx servers.
  unexpected pathname=probe/outlier/src/main/java/com/ti/fs/probe/outlier/service/dispo/InventoryService.java missing root prefix=/cvs/data/apps
relaxing, but who knows all consequences....

Yep, we have a cvs 1.12.12 running on the server...
Comment 2 giorgio42 2013-10-16 16:45:09 UTC
Configured CVS on server to use cvs 1.11.12. Message about protocol error is gone, but NB hangs completely nevertheless when trying to commit a second Java source file (first one after restart worked).

generate a thread dump when NetBeans freeze: http://wiki.netbeans.org/GenerateThreadDump

Will try as soon as I get a chance.
JFYI: no issues with 7.4rc1.
Comment 5 giorgio42 2013-10-17 15:35:36 UTC
Cannot reproduce the behavior now (sigh...).
