Setup: 2 projects: a java library, and a JSF app that includes the library project as a dependency. When changing the name of the java library project (using refactor), the project name changes in the JSF app view in the "projects" tab, but building the JSF project still fails. Turns out the change does not propagate to the data in the project properties modal, where is complains about a "missing project". Product Version = NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 201308300001) Operating System = Mac OS X version 10.8.4 running on x86_64 Java; VM; Vendor = 1.7.0_40-ea Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 24.0-b48
You had to select "Rename Folder" checkbox which causes the subproject path to be changed. Theoretically the project being renamed can fix the references in some projects but not all as the project does not know who depends on it. It can just ask all opened project if they include it. But all non opened project including the renamed project cannot be updated.
Thanks. The main point was that the library name was changed in one place (the project tree in the projects pane) and was not changed in the other (project properties dialog)
Right. I will at least change the name in the other opened projects referencing the renamed one. For non opened project there is no way how to fix them.
This old bug may not be relevant anymore. If you can still reproduce it in 8.2 development builds please reopen this issue. Thanks for your cooperation, NetBeans IDE 8.2 Release Boss
