Description Petr Jiricka 2013-08-19 16:28:50 UTC
I have a HTML5 application that uses an external server, which dynamically creates HTML output, so URLs don't generally correspond to html files on the disk.

However, I am required to enter a "Start File" in the Run section of project properties, and the name of this file is appended to the URL when I run the project. This is not what I want, because such a URL is not intended to be opened in the browser; the root URL should be used instead. So I would like to leave "Start File" empty, which is not allowed.

Taking over.

Honzo, what will happen with inspection (and other Easel features) if there is no corresponding HTML file in the project? I mean if there is no HTML file for the given URL - could this be a problem if one uses Chrome with NetBeans connector? If yes, how should we solve such situation? Select another browser?

Thanks.

Page inspection should work in this case with obvious limitations: Go To Source doesn't work, CSS rules cannot be edited etc. In fact, you can try this already - just run some HTML5 project in Chrome with NetBeans connector and then change URL of the opened tab to something not related to the project (like www.seznam.cz).

Should be done now. Please verify, thanks.

Integrated into 'main-silver', will be available in build *201502242039* on http://bits.netbeans.org/dev/nightly/ (upload may still be in progress)

I tried inspection with start file, works without any change. When running Express project without start file inspection works as well in a limited way (css changes and JS debugger)
