Description hmbrand 2013-03-14 14:31:47 UTC
In the Projects view (Ctrl-1), it would be (more) intuitive if right-clicking on the tab showed more-or-less the same choices as right-clicking in the void space of the view.

It took me more than 10 minutes - with some other netbeans user - to remember to try right-click in the white space instead of on the tab.

I am not an every-day netbeans user, so I tend to forget where the options are.
That said, netbeand is about 489% better in intuitiveness than Eclipse, where I can NEVER find any required functionality under right-click anywhere..

As a bonus, I'd like to see an option to *not* open a tab with the top-level workspace on netbeans startup (I have no idea what the view is called). When I start, I have the Projects (Ctrl-1) and services (Ctrl-5) tab open and don't need others on startup. It looks like when I start netbeans from $HOME/Foo a tab named "Foo" is always opened.

afaik there's currently no way to register 3rd party actions to the view's tab popup menu. reassigning to windows system for evaluation

Projects window lives in some project ui module so it can override TopComponent.getActions() to append anything to its context menu.

Although I'm not sure it's a good idea to include project specific stuff in its context menu.

from what I can tell, none of the other views adds any custom actions on the tab popup. That makes the discoverability of the feature problematic.

This old bug may not be relevant anymore. If you can still reproduce it in 8.2 development builds please reopen this issue.
