profiling of loading heap dump (on 52% of loading)

Profiler cannot open heap dump (2.5G).
Progress opening never finished.
I tried start IDE with 1.2G and 3.2G heap size.
The result is same.

It would be better to run on 64-bit jdk, but even on 32-bit JVM this simply works - I've tried the same build of jdk (1.6.0_33 b03 32bit) and i've tried opening 2.7G heap dump, there were no problems (with xmx 768m). Please use 64-bit jdk and/or normal xmx and there should be no problems.
Comment 2 Alexander Simon 2012-11-07 19:51:20 UTC
It is usability problem:
- loading does not finished for reasonable time
- loading cannot be canceled
- loading results in a lot of slowness in the IDE
- IDE does not give any hint about how heap dump can be opened in IDE
