Description aschwarz1309 2012-10-22 21:23:32 UTC
Product Version = NetBeans IDE 7.2.1 (Build 201210100934)
Operating System = Windows 7 version 6.1 running on x86
Java; VM; Vendor = 1.7.0_03
Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 22.1-b02

It would be nice to retain the operational environment after an update. This includes windows and their spatial arrangements, and user tabs. It is inconvenient to have to create the operational environment following an IDE UPDATE.

Since Netbeans retains projects it might as well retain the environment that existed prior to an update.

NetBeans does keep the window layout when doing minor updates, i.e. when the use dir does not change.
When upgrading to major versions, e.g. from 7.2 to 7.3 the window layout resets to defaults.
