My system locale is it_IT (italian).
Seems like the Netbeans "generate web service client" will generate class files with comments localized in italian. The project is configured to use UTF-8 as encoding. The problem is that the comments on the generated classes have undisplayable characters and would show up as <?> markers . 
Also, the project with the web service client will not compile, given the character encoding problem.

To mitigate the problem, I set the locale to en_US on netbeans.conf
