This Bugzilla instance is a read-only archive of historic NetBeans bug reports. To report a bug in NetBeans please follow the project's instructions for reporting issues.
Lots of developers are involved with certain modules in particular. It would be nice if each module home page had a link that gave you all of currently open bugs for that module.
A module owner can of course do this manually in their HTML, but it would be nicer to do this automatically, either in the module navbar, or on the module's Issue Tracking page eg http://ant.netbeans.org/servlets/ProjectIssues Actually the module navbar is already pretty cluttered, so I guess the issues page is the best place for this ? John ?
As this is an "it would be nice" issue, moving to P4. I'm not sure how soon we'd be able to include this feature. I'll ask.
Yup, in the Issues Tracking page is just fine.
I just found the Reports function of the website, which is similar to what this bug is asking for. You choose a component and it spits out all of the new bugs for it. (BTW - the Reports page could use some explanatory text, what's Most Doomed/Most Recently Doomed mean?). We might be able to use this to produce the list of bugs for each module home page. One thing - Reports output isn't very useful, just gives you bug numbers grouped by owner. I think the Module Bugs link should produce output like the query page.
I'll follow up on this request and record the internal tracking number.
Referencing a new CollabNet internal issue number for this enhancement, PCN12568. Our plan is to update this issue as soon as we receive more information from the product management team or a target release has been defined. Please let us know if there is any additional information that comes up for this issue or concerns about the timeframe of the next update. Thanks, Kristen
Change in our Update Plan: Our plan is to update this issue in 2 weeks. Please let us know if there are any additional thoughts on this issue or concerns about the timeframe for the next update. Jan
Update: We're looking into possible solutions for this issue. Adding internal reference number PCN 6778. Action Plan: Support will research this issue now that we have some additional places to investigate. Next Update: Within 2 weeks. Thanks, Kristen
Update: A feature is currently being considered for Truckee 2 that would allow custom links at the domain admin level to customize the navigation across all projects. At the next level down, a project owner wil be able to customize the nav on just his projects. With this enhancement you would be able to add an "open issues" type link in the navigation for each project. Action Plan: Awaiting more information from Product Management. Next Update: By 12-13-02
update from management: customizable project nav - within which we'll address this enhancement request - is not committed to any particular release at this time. We are still in the process of defining the requirement to the point where we can get a design for implementation and an estimate of what it will take to do the work. It currently has a *plan truckee 2* target milestone but that is only for the requirements work. next update: upon further update by collab's management team
Doesn't look like anything will happen here for a while. John as a short term fix (if you need it) I would suggest just coding the link into the HTML of your regular module index page. Maybe we could encourage module owners to do this for all module home pages ...
Hi Jack, I was asked to find out if a feature to allow individual projects to have custom links in their project tools navigation, would meet your needs for this issue? Thanks, Eric
This is implemented (and customisable per module) with the new site design.
We recently moved out from Collabnet's infrastructure
