Description silvestris 2012-06-03 18:02:14 UTC
hello
would be really nice if netbeans asked for confirmation if someone does drag&drop action on folders with content before it moves it to new destination

idk if others - but for me it happens sometimes that i drag and drop whole folder to folder under when i try to open it (idk, fast mouse or w/e). Netbeans then starts to move every file over FTP which blocks access to FTP for considerable amount of time *.*

simple confirm box after drag&drop not empty folders would be awesome:P

thanks

Silvestris

Are you php user? I've never heard request like this from any other camp using the IDE yet.
Comment 2 silvestris 2012-06-07 12:00:18 UTC
yes, im using netbeans for php
im used to regular editor's like edit++ (no project like in netbeans, no drag/drop of files, etc), started using netbeans few weeks ago, and really liked it, but it lack some small features to be fully useful to people like me.

to sum up - to find files in project i use project browser, and sometimes i simply instead of expanding a branch - drag&drop it to the one above or below, and it instanstly starts moving files around on ftp to keep it synced...)

Jardo, why did you reassign to PHP? Do you really think that any user would prefer such confirm box only for PHP projects and not for other projects type? I doubt...

Reassigning back.

#1 - You can can judge preferences of PHP users, not me.

#2 - Explorer has no control over logical structure of PHP projects

#3 - DnD in Java projects shows refactoring dialog

To sum up: it is your decision how DnD in PHP is going to look like.

and to make it more specific - hover (title) works only on files that were opened during netbeans start. all files opened after netbeans is started dont have it anymore.
(let me know if i should open a bug report for it)
