The old deadlock machine had a cvsup-based mirror of the pre-Mercurial netbeans.org CVS repository, in the /nbcvs directory. This was occasionally valuable to refer to, since while we imported basic CVS history into Mercurial, some things were not imported - history of binary files, files deleted in trunk before the conversion (including big renames such as openide/foo -> openide.foo), CVS branches. From time to time open-source researchers were interested in analyzing early project history, and of course NB developers on occasion want to know why something is the way it is even if that decision was years back. Now that deadlock has been replaced, this history would seem to be inaccessible without excessive work. We should find a place to host the old history so it is not lost to the world. At a minimum, a .tar.bz2 of the raw CVS repository would suffice. Nicer would be to divide it by top-level directory - openide, core, etc. - and individually convert these to Mercurial repositories for easier analysis. (Converting the whole thing with history is impossible due to size.)
The old CVS data are not available.
