I'm working with both Subversion and Mercurial version control systems. Both have a sort of current status view. For Subversion I can invoke Subversion->Show changes. For Mercurial I can invoke Mercurial->Status. Both serve the same purpose - to see the current status of the working copy. However in the view for subversion, I can switch between Incoming/Outgoing/Both changes, whereas for Mercurial I can see only outgoing changes. If I want to see incoming changes I have to go to Team->Mercurial->Show->Show Incoming. My proposal is to include the incoming changes into the repository status view in a manner similar to Subversion. It would be good to have a quick overall idea about incoming/outgoing changes for Mercurial.
Great; I don't currently use Mercurial, but this would be a usability improvement. While in it, would not it be good if a common repository status view and set data providers?
Showing the outgoing changes would also be handy. This way you are notified of pending outgoing changes.
