Created attachment 114519 [details] text underlined green is good, text underlined red is bad The rendering of fonts in NetBeans 7.1rc2 is inconsistent in two fronts. a) it's inconsistent word-to-word. Inside the same source file, the same words (ie. var names of the same type) are rendered differently in a seemingly random manner. Some of them are rendered wrongly, some properly. (see snapshot provided) b) compared to NetBeans 6.9.1 and 7.01, with the same Editor theme (colors/fonts/etc) the font rendering ''obviously'' differs. Attempting to tweak: Behavior a. changes by using "-J-Dawt.useSystemAAFontSettings=on -J-Dswing.aatext=false". However, that produces a result that is even worse (imho, the systemAA rendering is ugly on Vista); and inconsistent with previous NetBeans version, so b. is different but still apparent. So, my thoughts are: Whatever rendering method was used in 6.9.1 and 7.01 was very --VERY-- good, can we have that back please?
This is probably duplicate of 205917. It should be fixed in 7.1 final. You can use daily builds to verify the fix is OK thanks *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 205917 ***
