Description cautionbug 2011-09-12 16:32:32 UTC
Product Version = NetBeans IDE 7.0.1 (Build 201107282000)
Operating System = Windows 7 version 6.1 running on x86
Java; VM; Vendor = 1.6.0_27
Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 20.2-b06

i've searched google for "Netbeans html tag closures" and do not see this issue.
When writing HTML, the code complete is attempting to add closing tags to self-closing tags like IMG, INPUT, BR, and so on.

<input type="text" name="sometext"> -- When i type that ">", code complete brings up "</input>"
Same for all other tags.

The only time this doesn't happen is if i add the self-closing "/>", but my understanding is that's not valid HTML, but XHTML. Shouldn't code complete know what the closure should be based on the TAG i used? And depending on the doctype (or content type, i guess), determine whether the closure should be a separate tag, or the "/>" closure?

already fixed in 7.1
