Product Version = NetBeans IDE 6.9.1 (Build 201007282301)
Operating System = Windows XP version 5.1 running on x86
Java; VM; Vendor = 1.7.0
Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 21.0-b17

Not able to see any tab under databases-node which is available in services tab. After right clicking no option is shown.

I want to connect to database using netbeans 6.9 and 7.0. Under services tab we have databases option, but in my netbeans it shows nothing under the databases tab. I tried rightclicking it but nothing happens. Do I have to do any installation??  Plz help

Seems as a problem with using Keyring support for secure storing passwords. Is there a (native) dialog asking for master password? If so, fulfill the password to unlock system storage for passwords. Try restart IDE and watch if your system is asking for password.
Anyway, for better investigation attach your View|IDE Log from session when you expand Database node.
