In a maven based app client we should have the same options as in ant based app clients:

Call Enterprise Bean
Send JMS message
Send Email,
Use Database,
etc.

Application client in Maven based project were never fully supported --> changing to enhancement

This old bug may not be relevant anymore. If you can still reproduce it in 8.2 development builds please reopen this issue.
