Currently when adding a new instance, all jobs on the server are watched by default for broken builds. This can be tedious when there are hundreds of jobs, many of which are failing; you do not really want to "unwatch" them all manually.

Rather, the Add Hudson Instance dialog ought to have a checkbox - probably checked by default, for current behavior - to initially watch jobs.
