The "Default Debugging" debugger type isn't truly the "default debugger". In a multi-language IDE, there really isn't an "default debugger". Furthermore, it turns out that even for Java files, it isn't truly the default, since the user can set any debugger type as the default in Tools|Options|Editing|Java Sources. I think it is important that this debugger type be given a more meaningful name (at least one that conveys that it is for debugging Java), especially since it is the debugger most users of the IDE are going to use most often. I'm not sure how it differs from RMI and Applet debugger types, so I don't think I can suggest a good name. Maybe just "Plain Java Debugger" or just "Java Debugger"? (yes, this is related to http://openide.netbeans.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=19873. I'd misunderstood what this meant when I filed that one. Jan Stola explained it in that issue, so I'm )
