This Bugzilla instance is a read-only archive of historic NetBeans bug reports. To report a bug in NetBeans please follow the project's instructions for reporting issues.
If I open a help windows from the IDE, the help window pops up and displays seemingly correct content, but the contents of the window are unresponsive (will not respond to mouse clicks or the keyboard). The help window can be moved & resized (though if the window is made larger, the additional area is black). The same occurs for the main NetBeans window. I must End Task the NetBeans task in Task Manager to stop NetBeans, then start a new NetBeans instance to resume functionality. I am running: Product Version: NetBeans IDE 7.0 M2 (Build 201010151251) Java: 1.7.0-ea; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 20.0-b06 System: Windows 7 version 6.1 running on amd64; Cp1252; en_US (nb) My JDK is the latest build of Java 7, build 1.7.0-ea-b127. Thanks.

please generate thread-dump and attach it here : http://wiki.netbeans.org/GenerateThreadDump BTW: you are using old development build (7.0 Milestone 2) and not yet supported JDK 7.
Created attachment 106155 [details] threaddump-build20110217 It's a recent build.
I switched to jdk1.6.0_24. The issue persists.
The issue persists in build Dev 201102200501. The NetBeans IDE 7.0 Beta 2 (Build 201102052128) works fine on the same machine.

Please could you attach thread-dump as described on the page linked above ? Thanks in advance. BTW: looks like you are able to reproduce it, what are the steps to do so ?
tried latest NB build and I am not able to reproduce it on JDK 6 Product Version: NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 201102210501) Java: 1.6.0_23; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 19.0-b09 System: Linux version 2.6.35-25-generic running on amd64; UTF-8; en_US (nb) The JDK 7 related issue with Help is being tracked in issue 195797. If you are able to reproduce it on JDK 6, please reopen this issue. Thanks in advance. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 195797 ***
