I use the database component to connect to postgres servers, I have a few db connections set up in the services ->databases tree and sometimes netbeans loses one of them. I began noticing this problem a while ago, at first I thought I accidentally delete it but I'm now sure that netbeans loses some of the connections. It seems to happen at random, one day the connection is there and the day after is just gone. I will try to pay attention to see if there is something I do that could trigger the bug. Regards, Paolo.
Added more logging in core-main/rev/8bf01da8d556. Please, run your IDE with a switch -J-Dorg.netbeans.modules.db.explorer.DatabaseConnectionConvertor.level=FINE if you are running IDE from command line, or modify your <NetBeans-install-dir>/etc/netbeans.conf with this switch. Once you reproduce this, attach your messages.log. Thanks
Integrated into 'main-golden', will be available in build *201011020000* on http://bits.netbeans.org/dev/nightly/ (upload may still be in progress) Changeset: http://hg.netbeans.org/main/rev/8bf01da8d556 User: Jiri Rechtacek <jrechtacek@netbeans.org> Log: #191434: added more verbose logging

It just happened again, yesterday the database connection was there and today it's gone. Unfortunatly, since this a very rare event I'm not really sure when exactly it disappeared and I didn't run netbeans with the switch -J-Dorg.netbeans.modules.db.explorer.DatabaseConnectionConvertor.level=FINE. I've been using the db explorer and sql editor all yesterday, everything worked fine with no glitches and when today I opened netbeans the connection I used was gone. The only event worth a note is that yesterday I attempted to drop the db linked to that connection while the connection was active. After issuing the dropdb command from the console I got an error warning me of an active connection. I went back to netbeans, closed the connection and dropped the db (this time with no problems). Still, the db connection was still there, in fact after dropping it I recreated it from a backup, connected to it using the db explorer and worked on it a few more hours. It was only after starting netbeans this morning that I noticed the connection was missing. I attach all the log files I can find in ~/.netbeans/dev/var/logs, I hope they can be of some help. I will have to drop the db again to restore from a backup sometime next week, I hope I can replicate the bug.

paolosca, thank you for the log, unfortunately there is no records from DB area. I'm still waiting for more verbose log with switch described above. Thanks
Product Version: NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 201111020600) Java: 1.6.0_26; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 20.1-b02 System: Linux version 3.0.0-2-686-pae running on i386; UTF-8; en_US (nb) User directory: /home/paolo/.netbeans/dev Cache directory: /run/netbeans Just happened again, lost the database connection that I use most often. I used the connection yesterday and it was probably still open when I closed NetBeans. This morning I started netbeans and the connection was gone. I actually started NetBeans twice so I don't know if it disappeared at the first or at the second time. Additionally the first time I started I replicated an out of memory bug but I'm not sure it was related. I attach the past few messages.log, I hope you can find something in there.
