I inserted signs before and behind the localizable strings in any "Bundle.properties" files, and run. But, signs were not indicated with some strings. The string which shows in the attached screen shot, it has the possibility that, it isn't stored in the "Bundle.properties" file. Please investigate it. To reproduce: - Select [Tools] - [Options] in Main Menu. [Options] Window are appered. - Expand that ... [Options] - [IDE Configuration] - [System]

I've tested the problem for the editor. The localizing bundle for the editor's manifest file is editor/src/org/netbeans/modules/editor/Bundle.properties I've added "xx" before and "yy" after the original value of the OpenIDE-Module-Name=xxEditoryy in the Bundle.properties and the modified string correctly appeared in the running IDE. So I assume that the problem must be either the missing OpenIDE-Module-Name key in the corresponding Bundle_ja.properties or it must be somewhere else. I've heard that Jesse knows more about these things so I'm putting him to cc. I'm closing as WORKSFORME please reopen if the problem lies in the editor module.

The OpenIDE-Module-* keys which are specified in the base locale bundle must be copied to the Japanese bundle as well, and translated. Reopening in editor module until the translation is fixed, but of course if you have another way of handling this, please close again.
