Could some UI expert check the colors used in XML editor. They seems to me too colorful comparing to decent colors used in Java editor. Thanx.
When there will be better syntax analyse (issue 18413), it will be possible to compose syntax elements into syntax categories. [similar issue 17108]
I disagree that this issue depends on issue 18413. What I want is that current colors for tags, their attributes and values will be changed from blue, green, magenta to some more suitable colors for daily editing. Current colors are really hard to read, because most of text on my screen is magenta.

Created attachment 6238 [details] html file containng tables of colors for xml editor
created an attachment of the editor color list. This is in several sections. The first few are colors that won't change, but are part of the xml editor color list. the last table is an xml specific list that is based on the existing colors, but in values that work better with Annotations colors. Let's integrate the changes, and then look at a few typical xml files to see if the colors need any additional changes or improvements. b.
