One point from issue #182285 In Upload/Download dialog: When I check dir (status is classic checked) and then I manually uncheck all files/dirs in subtree - status of main dir don't change to unchecked. In windows will remain a special status (gray checked), in linux classic checked status.
Please, attach a screenshot from Linux, if possible. Also, it is always a good idea to specify NB version you use (can be found in Help > About). Thanks.

I look at checkbox now again and special status working on Linux too. But gray is very light and only around checkbox. The difference is very small and visually indistinguishable. ----------------------- Version of NB: Product Version: NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 2010-03-22_18-04-38 ) Java: 1.6.0_18; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 16.0-b13 System: Linux version 2.6.30-bpo.1-686 running on i386; UTF-8; cs_CZ (nb) Userdir: /home/pbure/.netbeans/dev
So: (In reply to comment #2) > Created an attachment (id=95567) [details] > Linux checkbox special status Apparently GTK bug, I will attach a screenshot from Metal L&F (Java default one). (In reply to comment #3) > Created an attachment (id=95568) [details] > auto uncheck bug It's not a bug, it's a feature - there were issues filed that it's not possible to upload/download an empty directory - not it's possible (I don't know the scenarios but users want this behaviour). (In reply to comment #4) > I look at checkbox now again and special status working on Linux too. But gray > is very light and only around checkbox. Therefore lowering to P4, let's keep this issue as a reminder. > System: Linux version 2.6.30-bpo.1-686 running on i386; UTF-8; cs_CZ (nb) BTW good locale ;)

Maybe that anyone one day fix. > It's not a bug, it's a feature :D > there were issues filed that it's not possible > to upload/download an empty directory - not it's possible (I don't know the > scenarios but users want this behaviour). Oh yes, that's true. I guess this functionality is strange, but probably better. > BTW good locale ;) Yes, the best! :D
batch reassigning
Still valid I guess (haven't tried myself).
Since it is a bug in GTK (JDK), we cannot fix it. Feel free to submit a bug against JDK. Thanks.
