Description Vladimir Kvashin 2009-11-27 09:22:00 UTC
User should be able to view files on remote host in IDE.
There should be a tree-view similar to Favorites view.

It is valid probably just for the Python / PHP versions.

In case you need to edit a single file in a larger remote project. Importing it from remote sources or working via Samba is really slow for these kind of tasks. Sometimes the only available access is SCP/SSH. Remote file browser would allow to edit single files, accessible via local filesystem, network filesystems, ftp, ssh/scp, etc.

There is already a plugin but not official and isn't working since NetBeans 6.5. This would be useful so developers don't need to download everything from FTP to start development.
