Java: 1.6.0_13; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 11.3-b02
System: Linux version 2.6.24-23-generic running on i386; UTF-8; en_US (nb)

Introduce variable/field does not work correctly for null value. It produces invalid code,

Steps to reproduce:
1) have a declaration
String s = null;

2) select null and invoke introduce field

-> private null newFiled; is produced

This old bug may not be relevant anymore. If you can still reproduce it in 8.2 development builds please reopen this issue.
