Description Willem Broekema 2001-10-26 02:30:40 UTC
Trying to add an attachment to a issue by uploading a local file, gives "No file was provided, or it was empty." every time I tried it.

I'd recommend that you try Mozilla, Netscape or IE. Browser
environments supported by SourceCast:
Windows 98 SE, NT 4.0 and 2000:
Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 4.0, 5.0 and 5.5
Netscape Communicator versions 4.77, 6.01 and 6.1

RedHat Linux 6.2 and 7.1:
Netscape Communicator versions 4.72, 4.76 and 6.1
Mozilla versions 0.7 and 0.92
Konqueror version 2.1.1

Apple MacOS 9.1 and X:
Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.1
Netscape Communicator versions 4.77 and 6.01

I'm not very sure, but I have (sorry about it...it isn't what an
engineer could ever say) only impression that in some earlier version
of Bugzilla and Opera...it works for me on my RedHat linux.

Well, should I understand that you aren't going to support Opera
browser? IMHO it's little bit pitty:-( isn't it?

Opera browser, I could say, has troubles on many websites/pages to
display them....but OTOH AFAIK, Opera is a browser which support the
realy clear and pure HTML code, so once you design your pages as they
could run with Opera browser they will run without any problems with
every possible HTML browser too....

BTW:
sometimes I've tried to use textual HTML browser: lynks/lynx
because it is much faster to read only simple text
(I know I could switch off displaying images, etc. but it isn't
possible to switch of ccs fonts definition...) and convenien to use
only keyboard, but I've gave up to use them to 'cause of impossibility
 attache files:-(

Once again I'm asking you Taska:
could we reopen this issue, pls?
I'm reopening it, but if you strongly disagree, pls feel free to close
it,....then I'm giving it up:-)

cheers
-Daniel
Comment 3 Taska 2001-10-30 15:51:19 UTC
Thanks for the update Daniel. I agree that it would be very nice to
have this working. However, we just absolutely do not have the
bandwidth right now to be fixing problems in unsupported browsers.
Spending time on this would cause our major release dates to slip,
which we can't afford if we're going to keep you happy overall. I'm
going to leave this open for the moment, but move to P5 for further
consideration at a later date.
Comment 4 dmladek 2001-10-30 17:05:07 UTC
I'm glad Taska, we've made an agreement and you're leaving it opened.
I know that you're almost overflowed with request and real bugs for IZ.

And I don't wanna to posspone the new release of'course:-)
so make it it when you'll have little bit more time for that and
investigate it for another release (there's no different choice for
version or targetMailstone now)

Comment 5 Taska 2001-11-07 00:42:58 UTC
Okay, so here's what I think. Since this a valid issue, but with
unsupported browsers, I'm going to mark it an 'enhancement' and treat
it as such. This will go into the request queue for our product
roadmap with the other enhancements.
Comment 6 Taska 2001-11-08 17:56:55 UTC
I've entered this as a request for our product management group
(internal issue PCN6425).

Comment 10 dmladek 2002-08-22 07:45:10 UTC
Hi Kristen,
as you could see, the problem is over:-)

That's great, mainly for links/lynx 'couse there's still lots of
cmdline oriented users (I'm not exactly part of them, but when there's
troubles with speed connection, or you want minimalize bunch of
sent/received date... lynx is good solution for that)

So, you could mark it as fixed, don't you?
Then I'll verified it:)

Thaks in advance
-Daniel
