Description Antonin Nebuzelsky 2009-07-15 12:16:54 UTC
At the first start of a daily build (e.g. 200907150249, JavaSE) the following warning is displayed:

Warning - could not install some modules: Java Card™ Runtime Bundle - No module providing the capability
org.openide.modules.os.Windows could be found.

[Exit] [Disable Modules and Continue]

This must be fixed to M1.

Currently the Java Card modules should only be available via the update center unless you explicitly build the cluster. I assume autoupdate will not offer
modules to a non-Windows machine which cannot actually be run on it?

There needs to be a discussion as to whether the Java Card modules should be included in any downloadable bundle. If yes, then inclusion of the runtime
bundle should be an installer issue - it should be in the Windows installer but not in Linux and Mac ones.

The Java Card emulator exists only for Windows (though it is perfectly possible to have something which deploys to an actual device on some other OS) - it's
up to the Java Card team to decide if they want to support other OS's - currently they don't, AFAIK.

So what are you asking me to do?

Java Card modules were not supposed to be added to the standard build and are no longer there.

We do need to deal with this longer-term, as there are some reasons to provide some download that bundles Java Card support, and the RI is Windows only,
but for now it is a non-issue with the modules only on the update center.
