Description infozone 2009-06-29 23:17:05 UTC
Is this for real? Wiki suggests using Kenai instead but those are two completely different animals. Is there a way to
enable Collab in 6.7? I'm pretty certain a lot of developers would vote for that.
Comment 1 mbien 2009-08-22 16:25:59 UTC
maybe adding some collab features (low hanging fruits) to the kenai plugin would make sense? E.g add an option to let
the chat point to a private XMPP server.

The google wave like collaboration feature is certainly trickier ;)

Here is how to enable it manually:

Is there a plan to schedule this or is this feature "replaced" by Kenai..?
Comment 4 infozone 2009-08-27 17:09:36 UTC
Hey kurti, thanks a bunch, it worked! Although I'd indeed prefer it enabled "officially".

Work-around (adding the 6.5 repository or manually downloading and installing the related modules) no longer works in 6.9.

While there are numerous non-integrated solutions that are satisfactory for chat, the collaborative editing feature is very useful, and I would like to see it available again under 6.9+.

We need a private collaboration server! we need compatibility kenai or java.net with openfire o another PLEASE!!
Comment 7 Jesse Glick 2011-08-11 20:19:09 UTC
The dev update center [1] still has these modules; look for "Developer Collaboration". They are untested, and I am unsure whether it is possible to use your own XMPP server.

Hey thanks a lot! It worked with OpenFire - although not with every version for some reason. With dated 3.6.3 it's ok.

Would be nice if this could be added again to NetBeans 7.1 and later!

Would be nice if this could be added again to NetBeans 7.4 and later!
