This Bugzilla instance is a read-only archive of historic NetBeans bug reports. To report a bug in NetBeans please follow the project's instructions for reporting issues.
Field for searching issues was generally appraised by participants in the usability study, but it's function was typically not recognized at first (only after participants started typing into the field). We should probably add better indication that issues can actually be identified by "choosing", not just by typing. Intended for the version after 6.7.
Attached is a sketch of UI solving this problem. Clicking the "combo" sign on the right would drop down a standard list with issues this field is using. The list would contain 5 most recently opened issues. Starting to type would behave as this fields behaves now .. would search all cached queries.

UI solving the problem is done, reassigning to bugtracking for implementation.
