Using Netbeans, one can reverse engineer database tables to create JPA entities and subsequently DAO(Controlllers in
netbeans lingo). But, using this approach you can potentially loose your customizations to the Entity classes when you
regenerate them from the database.

The following screenshot from MyEclipse allows one to create Abstract Entity classes to avoid this.

I love the Netbeans IDE and have been using it since its Forte4Java days and would like to really really switch away
from MyEclipse. It would be nice if the Netbeans developers looked at MyEclipse and took some of the excellent
ideas/patterns that it implements and bring them to Netbeans.

This old bug may not be relevant anymore. If you can still reproduce it in 8.2 development builds please reopen this issue.
